Summary: The Apostolic Church believes Christians are wrong. The Apostolic movement says the Trinity (One God in Three - Father, Son & Holy Spirit) is a false teaching. They are modalists.

(Modalism) is a denial of the Trinity which states that God is a single person who, throughout biblical history, has revealed Himself in three consecutive modes, or forms. Thus, God is a single person who first manifested himself in the mode of the Father in Old Testament times. At the incarnation, the mode was the Son. After Jesus’ ascension, the mode is the Holy Spirit. These modes are consecutive and never simultaneous. In other words, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit never all exist at the same time, only one after another. Modalism denies the distinctiveness of the three persons in the Trinity even though it retains the divinity of Christ.

Present day groups that hold to this error are the United Pentecostal and United Apostolic Churches. They deny the Trinity, teach that the name of God is Jesus, and require baptism for salvation. These modalist churches often accuse Trinitarians of teaching three gods. This is not what the Trinity is. The correct teaching of the Trinity is one God in three eternal coexistent persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Source: CARM)

For a larger and more in-depth work on this matter, I’d recommend The Trinity - Evidences & Issues by Dr. Bob Morey.

The second error the Apostolic Church holds is one that baptism ‘in Jesus name’ is necessary for salvation. This error negates that baptism is an outward sign or expression of what has taken place inwardly. I would recommend you read, Is Baptism Necessary for Salvation?

With so many theological errors, we recommend people avoid North Park Apostolic Church.

As an apostolic evangelist, who through seeking God’s face through many days and nights in his word for myself, the Lord led me out of the Catholic faith into the truth. He is one! On the day the church was born the plan of salvation was laid out by the Holy Ghost using Peter , who had the key to open up the church. Jesus is the door, and he gave Peter the key! An unlocked door needs no key! Thats why Jesus told you and I to seek the truth! Truth is worth seeking for. It was easy to let others define it for me. But, every man(woman) has a responsiblity to seek the Lord for themselves. Acts 2:38 is the plan and it takes a sincere person who desires to know truth on the inward part to find the new birth experience just like the bible says. The Lord himself came to me and said”I am that I am , Jesus”. He is the one that died for us, he is the one thats coming back for the church, He is the one whose name seals us until that day. He is the door, the way, the truth and the light. Many so-called christians say they love Jesus, but will fight his name tooth and nail, but, I ask you what could be wrong with the name of Jesus? What part of All power in heaven and earth don’t you understand? He has all power, you and I have been made in his image, if you have three distinct personalities we would deem you to be pshycotic. Your god may not have a proper name, but mine has. He loved me so much he came himself, and died for me, and he’s so awesome he gave me his blood in washing away my sins through the bapt. in his name and because he is so awesome he gave me his spirit and it gives me the power to live and overcoming life! Glory to Jesus! He has promised me eternal life in his kingdom. I preach Jesus and him crucified and risen again, what could be wrong with Jesus !

I am an Apostolic, born again of the water and Spirit! Everybody ought to know Who Jesus is! If you are searching for what is real and what is true, if you want to know what the truth is, then I highly recommend you begin praying for God to reveal Himself to you, and seek Him with all your heart. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. If you need your faith increased, visit this church and let God bless you and minister to you. At this church you will learn how to repent, how baptism in Jesus’ Name washes away your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost! There is no experience greater in this life than when Jesus fills you with His Spirit! Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is One Lord!

The review contains numerous false statements.

For those who do not accept baptism is Jesus name, why was everyone in the Christian church at Jerusalem and all other christian churches baptised this way for 325 years after the death and resurrection of Jesus. Baptism in Jesus name only occuried until the Council of Nicea that formed the Catholic Church. The word trinity is not in the Bible.

Jesus did say “I and my Father are One”.

Read the Bible and you will soon understand that the doctorine of this church is complete and accurate. And yes, all the other Christian churches are all daughters of the Catholic Church. The Apostolic Church existed a long time before the Catholic church. It was started by Jesus and his Disciples.

Hmmm… Interesting. I don’t even go to North Park Apostolic Church, but I am Apostolic, and what I want to point out is the accusation that the Apostolic church believes that the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost all exist or existed only in sequence. And that they don’t all exist simultaneously. This is not true about the Apostolic Church. We believe that they all exist at once because God, who’s name is Jesus, never left the throne when he wrapped himself in flesh. In order for us to understand that he died for us, he had to become a fleshly being, because they couldn’t crucify a spirit. The carnal mind does not understand the things of the Spirit. So in defense of the Truth, the Bible says that things such as these would happen to the true church. People persecuting and slandering us. We must suffer with Him if we want to reign with Him. Forget the fact about the trinity, which my boy, Phillip, explained is not in the Bible. Understand that the true church is one who performs mighty acts of God… Healing in the name of Jesus, the blind being made to see, the lame being made to walk, etc. These things were performed by the APOSTLES (hence the word APOSTOLic), and were revived in 1906 at the church on Azuza street, who’s pastor I might add, was the founder and first presiding bishop of the pentecostal assemblies of the world (an APOSTOLic organization).

Beyond all that, the scripture says, that the name of JESUS is the only name “under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.” The scripture also says, “he that believes and is baptized, shall be saved.” It ALSO says, go ye therefore, teaching all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” Now if we must baptize in the name of these, and baptism saves, and the name of JESUS is the only one “whereby we must be saved”, then we obviously need to go ahead and baptize JESUS’ name. Remember John 3:5 - “verily, verily I say unto you, except a man be born of the water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” If you reject Him, He’ll reject you. Peace, Joy, Love & Life. INK.
